This is a wonderful opportunity to share your experience as a UL Lafayette student and help attract prospective students. Our hope is that the connections volunteers make with these students will illustrate why UL Lafayette is such a special place!
Join a Club or Chapter
Alumni Chapters are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific college, major, or interest group (i.e. College of Nursing Alumni Chapter - nursing graduates; Ragin' Cajun Veterans Alumni Chapter - graduates who have proudly served our country). Most chapters are formed in the Acadiana area and meet annually in conjunction with a tailgate or other event happening on campus.
Search our list of active chapters and see which one you'd like to be a part of!
Ragin' Cajun Clubs are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific geographic region (city, parish, state, metropolitan area, etc.) The clubs typically hold at least one event a year whether it's a crawfish boil or pregame tailgate when our Ragin' Cajuns athletic teams are in town.
See the list of active clubs and meet Ragin' Cajuns in your area at the next organized event!

Resume Writing Tips
The foundation of a successful job search is an effective resume. Webster defines a resume as "a short account of one's career and qualifications prepared typically by an applicant for a position." The purpose of a resume is to get the applicant a job interview by generating the employer's interest in the applicant and their qualifications for the position.
A professional staff member in Career Services can assist with your resume. Email your resume to email@example.com for a quick resume review. Or call or visit our office in the Agnes Edwards Hall lobby to make an appointment or to discuss your resume.
Job Search Preparations
Preparing for the interview
The interview provides an opportunity for the employer to get to know you and determine if you are a good fit for their company. It also gives the applicant the opportunity to "market themselves" and learn as much as they can about the position and the company. Remember that first impressions make a statement and that you do not have a second chance to make a first impression!
With your passion for knowledge and excitement for exploring the unknown, earning your master’s or doctoral degree is the next step in your career or scholarly pursuits.
Our graduate programs hone your professional skills while challenging you to think critically and to do research. We offer degrees and certificates in disciplines that span the arts, liberal arts, sciences, education, and more. Assistantships, Fellowships & Other Funding Opportunities
Assistantships and fellowships can help you pay for your graduate degree while also letting you earn valuable experience for your career.
UL Lafayette awards hundreds of assistantships every year to students admitted to our master’s and doctoral programs. Assistantships—including teaching, research, and administrative assistantships—provide competitive stipends and tuition/fee waivers in exchange for up to 20 hours of work per week in the classroom, research labs, or offices on campus.
UL Lafayette offers several competitive fellowships that are awarded on academic merit. Fellowships tend to be the most prestigious form of financial assistance available to graduate students. At UL Lafayette, they typically include a tuition waiver, stipend, and some portion of time that is non-service in nature.
Teacher Tuition Incentive Program
An initiative of longtime President Ray P. Authement, the UL Lafayette Teacher Tuition Incentive Program assists currently employed K-12 teachers and administrators pursuing graduate studies by providing tuition scholarships to support part-time enrollment.
McNair Master's Scholar Program
In addition to waiving the application fee, the Graduate School offers tuition and fee waivers on a competitive basis to promising Master’s students who have been participants of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program.
Robert Elliot May Graduate Resident Tuition Fellowships
The Robert Elliot May Graduate Resident Tuition Fellowship program provides resident (in-state) tuition to new non-resident (out-of-state and international) graduate students. To be eligible for this competitively-awarded fellowship, a student must be a new student admitted to a degree-seeking (master's or doctoral) graduate program in regular admission status.
Recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrollment (excluding summer sessions), remain in good academic standing, and make satisfactory progress toward the degree sought. Should a recipient accept a graduate assistantship or other tuition-waiver benefit, the resident tuition fellowship is forfeited.
If you're interested in learning more about this resident tuition fellowship opportunity, contact the Graduate School or the Graduate Coordinator of the program to which you've applied.
GSO & SGA Funding
Being successful in graduate school means conducting and presenting research, and that takes money. The Graduate Student Organization and the Student Government Association at UL Lafayette both offer grad students funding to support research and travel.
Grad students often turn to financial aid and loans to help pay for graduate study. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at UL Lafayette for help with your federal loan application.
