Alumni Student Recruitment Program
Together with the Office of Admissions, the Alumni Student Recruitment Program aims to provide volunteers with the tools and information to write letters to at least five students who have been accepted into the University but have not yet registered for classes.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share your experience as a UL Lafayette student and help attract prospective students. Our hope is that the connections volunteers make with these students will illustrate why UL Lafayette is such a special place!
Join a Club or Chapter
Alumni Chapters are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific college, major, or interest group (i.e. College of Nursing Alumni Chapter - nursing graduates; Ragin' Cajun Veterans Alumni Chapter - graduates who have proudly served our country). Most chapters are formed in the Acadiana area and meet annually in conjunction with a tailgate or other event happening on campus.
Search our list of active chapters and see which one you'd like to be a part of!
Ragin' Cajun Clubs are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific geographic region (city, parish, state, metropolitan area, etc.) The clubs typically hold at least one event a year whether it's a crawfish boil or pregame tailgate when our Ragin' Cajuns athletic teams are in town.
See the list of active clubs and meet Ragin' Cajuns in your area at the next organized event!

Resume Writing Tips
The foundation of a successful job search is an effective resume. Webster defines a resume as "a short account of one's career and qualifications prepared typically by an applicant for a position." The purpose of a resume is to get the applicant a job interview by generating the employer's interest in the applicant and their qualifications for the position.
A professional staff member in Career Services can assist with your resume. Email your resume to resume@louisiana.edu for a quick resume review. Or call or visit our office in the Agnes Edwards Hall lobby to make an appointment or to discuss your resume.

Job Search Preparations
Preparing for the interview
The interview provides an opportunity for the employer to get to know you and determine if you are a good fit for their company. It also gives the applicant the opportunity to "market themselves" and learn as much as they can about the position and the company. Remember that first impressions make a statement and that you do not have a second chance to make a first impression!

The Robert Elliot May Graduate Resident Tuition Fellowship program provides resident (in-state) tuition to new non-resident (out-of-state and international) graduate students. If you're interested in learning more about this resident tuition fellowship opportunity, contact the Graduate School or the Graduate Coordinator of the program to which you've applied.
