South Louisiana Mid-Winter Fair Association

Established in 1928, the South Louisiana Mid-Winter Fair Association not only hosts some of Louisiana's best rodeos in the state, but also plays an integral role in the advancement of the University.

The association hosts the annual Mid-Winter Fair Rodeo in January and hosted its inaugural Fishing for Scholarships rodeo in July 2022, both benefitting UL Lafayette. For over 80 years, the organization has been responsible for funding UL Lafayette scholarships, professorships, and the upkeep of Blackham Coliseum.

They have nine endowments in total: six professorships and three scholarships. The endowments currently total over $1.6 million. Since the inception of each endowment, they have awarded a total of $397,031 over the years. Read more about the South Louisiana Mid-Winter Fair Association's history with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
