The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association has named its newly elected and appointed Alumni Council members.

New Alumni Council members elected to three-year terms include Claire Andrus, Bridgit Chaisson, David D’Aquin, Kristen Molbert, and Garland “Chico” Rodriguez.

Andrus graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and is a retired sales/marketing director. In addition to being elected, she currently serves on the UL Lafayette Alumni Camellia Tea committee and Spring Gala auction committee. Andrus is married to Mattieu G. Andrus and has three children: Seth, Trent, and Camille.

Chaisson earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1994 and is a realtor for Van Eaton and Romero and travel agent for Intel Travel. She previously served as a member-at-large on the Alumni Council and chairperson for the clubs and chapters committee. She is the secretary of the Christiana Smith African American Alumni Chapter, and volunteers for the Student Recruitment Program, UL Lafayette Alumni Association’s Bingo and Bubbly, tailgating, and crawfish boils. She is married to Daniel Chaisson and has a daughter named Hannah.

D’Aquin graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 2001 and is the Public Affairs Manager for Cox. He has served as a Communications Department Advisory Panel member, lecturer in the Broadcast Journalism department and facilitated a C-Span visit to UL Lafayette for students. D’Aquin is married to Jacque Rowe.

Molbert graduated from UL Lafayette in 2014 with a Bachelor of General Studies degree and went on to earn a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a veterinarian at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center. While a student, Molbert was an NCAA Division I collegiate athlete in Volleyball, a 2014 Outstanding Graduate of the College of General Studies, 2013 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and on the Sunbelt Commissioner’s List from 2010-2014. She is married to Jake Molbert.

Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree in 2004 and is currently an Assistant Director for the UL Lafayette Student Union. He serves on the Alumni Association Homecoming committee, Parking Appeals committee, and Holiday committee for the University. He also served on the Student Union Advisory Board in 2014. Rodriguez is an RCAF member, Alumni Association member, Loyalty Fund donor, UL Federal Credit Union board member, and season ticket holder for Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football, softball, and baseball.

Anita Begnaud, Evan Boudreaux, Kathleen Guedry, Randall Mann, and Jay Pathy have been appointed by Alumni Association President Troy Hebert, serving one-year terms.

Begnaud, a 2011 graduate, earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from UL Lafayette. She is the CEO of the Downtown Development Authority/Downtown Lafayette Unlimited. She has served as judge of capstone public relations projects, worked with the Dean of Liberal Arts for numerous Political Science related activities such as Congressional forums, is Acadiana’s representative for education/workforce training initiatives, and worked for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development on advocacy efforts. She is married to Lyle Begnaud.

Boudreaux graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 2017 and is a lobbyist for The Picard Group. Boudreaux is an Association of Future Alumni past president and Alumni Association member. He also coordinates with University leadership and co-elected officials, and various “legislative updates.” Boudreaux acts as UL Lafayette’s legislative liaison for meetings with the Board of Regents and works with University officials in organizing meetings on Capitol Hill.

Guedry graduated from the College of Education in 1991 and is currently an elementary physical education teacher. She is an Alumni Association member and Loyalty Fund donor and has served on the Alumni Council since 2017. She has served as chairperson of the Awards committee and recently named the 2019 Volunteer of the Year by the Alumni Association president. She is married to Todd Guedry and has two daughters, Amanda and Sarah.

Mann earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1985 and is the Vice President of Acadian Companies. Mann formerly served as a member of the Alumni Council and sat on the Board of Directors from 1996-1997 as Vice President of Community Affairs. Mann is also a member of RCAF and Louisiana Classics. He is married to Stephanie Mann with two children, Tyler and Emily.

The Alumni Council is the governing body of the UL Lafayette Alumni Association. Council members meet twice a year for formal meetings and are called on throughout the year to assist with various engagement events hosted by the Alumni Association including tailgate parties before every home game, club and chapter events for which they have an affinity, and many other activities.

Voting takes place annually in May, with voting open to current Loyalty Fund donors of $100 or more.
