Alumna Lindsey Dupuis Bledsoe spent her childhood at the heels of her grandmother, learning everything about sewing and fashion. Now, she's taking her styling skills to the next level as a professional wardrobe stylist and fashion expert.

Bledsoe '05 has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a go-to stylist for celebrities and high-profile clients. Throughout her career, she's worked with clients such as Nikki Reed, Brittany Snow, and Kristen Bell, to name a few. Her work has been featured in publications like People magazine, and she's been able to attend notable events such as Paris Fashion Week and the Oscars.

Her fashion journey began when she decided to study apparel design and merchandising at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. "I loved that chapter of my life, and I really tried to live it to the fullest," Bledsoe said.

She was highly involved on campus and immersed herself in as many activities as possible. Throughout her studies, she took classes on topics like textiles and tailoring.

"[Those classes] really made me appreciate all the hands that go into making a custom piece of clothing," she said. She even did internships in Los Angeles, California, and at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to learn more valuable skills to prepare her for a career in fashion.

After graduating from UL Lafayette, Bledsoe returned to Walt Disney World to work as a costume-buying intern before moving to her dream destination — Los Angeles. Once she got her foot in the door, Bledsoe landed a role with entrepreneurs and stylists Emily Current and Merritt Elliot. "I was their assistant, then associate, and then ended up becoming their styling director. I loved working for them," she said.

Bledsoe learned all about the fashion industry while working with Current and Elliot. However, after several years of working for them, she decided to take a leap of faith and start styling clients on her own. Since then, Bledsoe has soared in the industry and helped many people find their own personal style.

"When I get a new client, we try to meet and I create a mood board for them. I interview them and see who their icons are and who they aspire to be style-wise. I put together a mood board and we can see what they like and who they want to be," Bledsoe said.

Currently, Bledsoe and her family reside in Nashville, Tennessee, where she's been able to style and work with more artists in the music industry, like Little Big Town. "I like to think of my life in chapters. I loved my UL Lafayette chapter. I loved my Los Angeles chapter. And now it's time for my Nashville chapter."

As her career evolves, Bledsoe hopes to continue to find a balance between her personal and professional life. "I'm trying to master the art of being a business owner and a mom," Bledsoe said. She also hopes to focus on some of her own design projects in the future. No matter where her journey takes her, Bledsoe knows that she can tackle any challenge that comes her way. "If you put your whole heart into something, it will always work out."
