Atlanta Ragin’ Cajun Club

The Atlanta Ragin' Cajun Club is looking forward to a bus trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football game against Alabama on September 29.

The club also announced new leadership with the appointments of Debra Mouton Miller as president and Joe Trahan as vice president. Beverly Black, who has been president of the club for several years, is now as a member of the Alumni Association Executive Board. Congratulations to all!

Bayou Parishes Ragin’ Cajun Club

The Bayou Parishes Ragin’ Cajun Club is excited to be hosting its first ever watch party on September 15. Alumni and friends from Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption, and St. Mary parishes are invited to meet the leaders of the Bayou Parishes Ragin’ Cajun club while also watching UL Lafayette take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The watch party is free to attend and will be held at Southdown Bar & Grill. There will also be drink specials for those that wear their favorite Ragin Cajun appeal! RSVP by Thursday, September 13.

Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter

The Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter will be hosting its 27th Annual Sweet Sounds of Sharing on Saturday, October 13. Sweet Sounds of Sharing will be held at the Cajundome Convention Center with doors opening at 8 p.m. and the program beginning at 8:30 p.m. The 2018 Outstanding Alumni Honorees include Karl Bernard, Melba Danzie Braud, Robert Diggs, Steven Ellis, Angela Morrison, and Elizabeth Guillory Pierre.

Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster. All proceeds go to the Christiana Smith endowed scholarship fund.

Colorado Ragin’ Cajun Club

The Colorado Ragin’ Cajun Club held its annual crawfish boil on June 2, 2018 at Clement Park in Littleton, CO. Over 55 alumni and friends were in attendance. View the photos here!

Golden Ambassadors Society

The Golden Ambassadors Society is excited to host the Golden Ambassador Society Dinner on October 12. Alumni who have celebrated their 50th reunion are invited to the dinner during Homecoming week. The Golden Ambassadors and their guest will enjoy a buffet-style dinner at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette followed by music and dancing. Dinner is $25 per person. Register by October 2, 2018.

Gridiron Alumni Chapter

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Department of Athletics and Director of Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard invite all former football players, coaches, trainers and managers to the Gridiron Alumni Reunion Weekend September 21-22, 2018. Attendees are welcome to bring their families and enjoy a weekend of sharing memories with teammates and co-workers while also enjoying a Saturday evening at Cajun Field watching Louisiana take on Coastal Carolina. Other events throughout the weekend include the Bill “Black Jack” Landry Memorial Golf Scramble, a social, tailgating before Saturday’s game, and on-field recognition during half time. RSVP by Sunday, September 16.

Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club

It is with great pleasure that the Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club executive board announces the inductees for the 2018 class of the UL Lafayette Athletics Hall of Fame: Yvette Girouard (Coach), Gerald Hebert (Administration), Scott Dohmann (Baseball), Tiffany Clark Gusman (Softball), Damon Mason (Football), and Anna Petrakova (Women’s Basketball).

Newman Alumni Chapter (Ragin’ Cajun Catholics)

Join the Newman Alumni Chapter as they celebrate Homecoming Week with the Homecoming Mass at Our Lady of Wisdom Church on October 7 at 6:00 p.m. A small reception will follow the mass.

New Orleans and Northshore Ragin’ Cajun Clubs

Red Jackets Alumni Chapter

The Red Jackets Alumni Chapter will hold their reunion on Saturday, October 13 at the Alumni Center. Our schedule is as follows: 9 a.m. Homecoming Open House, 10 a.m. Homecoming Parade, and 11 a.m. Reunion Luncheon. Chapter members are asked to wear red jackets, white pants, and white gloves. We will sit as a group in the stands to watch the Homecoming Parade. We are asking all Red Jackets who are able to attend to please do so.

West Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun Club

The West Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun Club will be hosting a watch party on September 15 at Mellow Mushroom. All are invited to watch the Ragin’ Cajuns take on Mississippi State. The social will begin at 6:00 p.m. with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.  There will also be music by The Cards, featuring UL Lafayette alumnus Logan Soileau ’16. This event is free to attend, but the deadline to RSVP is Thursday, September 13. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event as well.

Young Alumni Chapter

The Young Alumni Chapter co-hosted a crawfish boil with The 705 on May 17 at the Alumni Center. 37 Ragin’ Cajun alumni and friends were in attendance with special guest Dr. Savoie.  Two suite passes were given to a lucky winner for the baseball game against ULM that weekend. View the photos here!

For the second year in a row, the Young Alumni Chapter hosted Trivia on Tap at Jefferson Street Pub. It was a competitive night with the winning team placing first by only two points. Congratulations again to Jamey Arnette, Courtney Bonin, Katherine Dyess, Emily Girlinghouse and Ross Murphree! Thank you again to the event sponsor, Rob Stewart with Assurance Financial.
