Alumni Band

Alumni Band Weekend will be held November 24-25, 2017. Alumni band members are invited to a Friday Night Social at Pete’s to kick things off.  The following day, they will take the field to perform at half time when the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns face Georgia Southern. Alumni President’s Council

The Alumni Association Past Presidents gathered on Thursday, October 12 for their annual champagne toast.  The group joined alumni and friends at the alumni tailgate before our Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns hosted Texas State at Cajun Field.

B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration Alumni Chapter

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration Alumni Chapter hosted a watch party on September 9 at Pete’s on Johnston with 29 alumni present.

On October 17, the chapter partnered with the college to host an open house where alumni were invited to tour Moody and F.G. Mouton halls and meet the new dean, Dr. Bret Becton, as well as faculty, staff and students.

The chapter introduced a new chapter president, Monique Villien ’00, this year. Monique has been volunteering with Alumni Association since 2006 and was previously involved with the chapter and Homecoming committee, serving as chairperson in 2015 and 2016.

Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter

The Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter is gearing up for the 26th annual Sweet Sounds of Sharing, recognizing 2017 honorees Col. Karen Briggman, Dr. Bobbie Decuir, Dr. Herman Hughes, Judge Lori Landry, and Harold B. Porter. This year’s trailblazer is Dr. Ray Authement.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 18 at the Alumni Center at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

College of Engineering Alumni Chapter

The College of Engineering Alumni Chapter is inviting alumni back to campus on Homecoming Weekend. The schedule of events includes an engineering social, Madison Hall visit, tailgating and more! Get the full details and registration here.

The chapter welcomed a new chapter president, Angie Thomassee Dore' ’00 ‘04.  Angie was previously involved with the Dallas/Ft. Worth Ragin’ Cajun Club before moving back to Lafayette.

College of Nursing & Allied Health Professionals Alumni Chapter

The College of Nursing class of 1977 will be celebrating their 40th reunion on Saturday, December 2.  The reunion will be held at the Alumni Center from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Register before November 29.

The College of Nursing & Allied Health Professionals Alumni Chapter is inviting all graduates to tailgate with the Alumni Association on Homecoming Day, November 18. Tailgating is free for Loyalty Fund premium donors and $15 per guest.

Communications Alumni Chapter

The Communications Alumni Chapter is now under new leadership. Sara Moore Bourque ’12 will serve as president.  The chapter is hosting a mixer at Corner Bar on Thursday, November 9 from 5:30-7 p.m. RSVP here.

Golden Ambassador Society

Alumni who have celebrated their 50th reunion are invited to the second annual Golden Ambassadors Society Dinner as part of Homecoming Week. Alumni and their guests can enjoy dinner and dancing held at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette from 6-9 p.m. Find more information and registration here.

Gridiron Alumni Chapter

The Gridiron Alumni Chapter held its annual team meal on August 19. During this meal, the chapter fed current players.

The chapter also partnered with Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics in September for a two-day Gridiron Reunion. Seven decades of players were represented with over 200 members and their families attending the weekend’s festivities, which included a Friday night social and tailgating.

Nathan Thornton, Jr. ’75 took over as chapter president this year. He was previously the Communications Alumni Chapter president and highly involved with the Gridiron Alumni Chapter before his presidency.

Newman Alumni Chapter

The Newman Alumni Chapter assisted with the Our Lady of Wisdom gala with keynote speaker Cardinal Dolan.

Homecoming Week begins on Sunday, Nov. 12, with an official mass and celebration honoring our Homecoming Court. The Newman Alumni Chapter invites you to Our Lady of Wisdom Church, located on the corner of St. Mary Blvd. and McKinley St.

Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club

The Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club will host the annual Hall of Fame Induction reception on Friday, November 17 at Russo Park. All are invited to attend to honor this year’s Hall of Fame inductees.

Red Jacket Alumni Chapter

The Red Jackets were highly involved in the pool dedication to Red Jacket founder, Margaret McMillan on Friday, October 13 at Bourgeois Hall.

The Red Jackets are also hosting their annual reunion luncheon on Homecoming Day. The chapter will gather at the Alumni Center at 9:30 a.m. for an open house, the Homecoming parade, and lunch.

Young Alumni Chapter

The Young Alumni Chapter is gearing up for their third gathering of the year: the annual Young Alumni Pub Crawl during Homecoming. Alumni are invited to tag along and enjoy discounts and drink specials downtown, immediately following Downtown Alive on November 17. RSVP online to receive a souvenir bandana when you participate.

This summer the chapter held a Young Alumni Mixer at The Wurst Biergarten with over 40 alumni in attendance.  The chapter also hosted trivia night at Jefferson Street Pub where teams competed for a chance to win gift cards to local bars and eateries. The winning team included alumni Nick Arcuri '10 '16, Elizabeth Rose-Arcuri '13, Emily Girlinghouse '13 '16, and Courtney Bonin '16.

Millicent Canter Nugent ’15 began as chapter president this year. Millie is also involved on the Alumni Association’s Homecoming and Bingo & Bubbly planning committees.

Ark-La-Tex Ragin’ Cajun Club

The Ark-La-Tex Ragin’ Cajun Club held a watch party on Thursday, October 19 for alumni and fans in the area.  The watch party was held at Walk-On’s with 18 alumni in attendance. The Ragin’ Cajun Club watched as  the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns played Arkansas State.

Dallas/Ft. Worth Ragin’ Cajun Club

The Dallas/Ft. Worth Ragin’ Cajun Club hosted a watch party when the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns played Texas A&M on Saturday, September 16. Twelve alumni and fans put on their red to watch the game at Nates Seafood & Steak House.
