Preserve your best memories with photos at the Alumni Center
Wed, 11/20/2024 - 1:01pmMeaningful photos captured at a meaningful place — it’s a gift that will bring joy for years to come, and the Alumni Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers an incredible backdrop for the occasion.
“Our grounds are beautiful,” John Claude Arceneaux, director of facilities and special projects, said. He shared photo session seekers are most often drawn to the front gates, rose garden, beautiful oak trees and a bridge dedicated to Christiana Smith, the first African American student to graduate from the University.
Arceneaux tells graduates that the Alumni Center is their portal back to campus. It is used for many special events throughout the year, like the Outstanding Alumni Reception, Golden Reunion, alumni meetings, Spring Gala and more.
Just as alumni can expect the best experience possible at these annual events, Arceneaux said that they want to ensure photo shoots at the Alumni Center for interested families and friends run smoothly, too.
“All photographers are required to schedule sessions in advance with the Alumni Association office,” he said. “By doing so, we can provide a smooth and uninterrupted experience.” Guests can reserve the gardens, inside of the house or both for their photo sessions. The booking fee begins at $25 for two hours of access. All photo sessions, including those after-hours and on weekends, must be scheduled in advance. Required fees must also be paid in full before the photo shoot begins.
Photo sessions can be booked online or by calling the Alumni Association at (337) 482-0900 Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Schedule your next photo session at the Alumni Center and start capturing new memories at your old stomping grounds.
