As a University of Louisiana at Lafayette graduate, Stephanie Lynch says her college experience gave her lifelong friendships, invaluable mentors and a quality education from an internationally recognized academic institution.

Now, as the newest and current president of the Ark-La-Tex Ragin’ Cajun Club, Lynch is drawing on that undergraduate experience to fuel her latest leadership endeavor – including introducing two new club events for the 2024 calendar year.

“I was very active during my time as a student, from being a member of the governing board of the Student Union to a member of the Student Government Association for the [B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration] and student representative for food services, financial aid appeals committee, etc.,” she shared. “I've always been a leader...so being club president is natural for me.”

Under Lynch’s leadership, the club recently hosted its first-ever senior send-off at Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees. For one afternoon, multiple generations came together for food, fellowship and a friendly bowling competition among first-year students, their families and alumni living in the Ark-La-Tex region.

“The location truly has something for everyone, with many attendees expressing that the event gave them a reason to finally come check out the venue,” Lynch said.

The club also has another new event in the works as co-hosts for the inaugural Ragin’ Cajun Clubs Homecoming Hangout on Friday, November 8. Additional events for the 2024-2025 calendar year include watch parties, tailgates and, of course, a crawfish boil.

Lynch encourages alumni to attend Ark-La-Tex Ragin’ Cajun Club events because it helps keep the spirit and culture of the University alive. “We love to have fun,” she said. “You are guaranteed to have a good time. We also want to be a resource for students and adults to consider the many educational options available at UL Lafayette.”

Plus, she added, she’s experienced a level of professionalism, organizational support and club engagement that demonstrates the University’s commitment to its alumni.
