Three steps to get you ready for tailgating this football season

As the summer months slowly wind down, it can only mean one thing— it’s almost time for football season and tailgating! The Alumni Association is excited to bring back the Alumni Hospitality Tailgate for the 2022 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football season.

Whether it’s enjoying a delicious bowl of jambalaya or listening to the Pride of Acadiana, there are many reasons why our tailgate is the perfect spot to gather before a football game at Cajun Field. To ensure you’re prepared for the upcoming season, here are three things you need to know to get ready to tailgate with us!

1. Make your annual gift to the Alumni Loyalty Fund 

The easiest way to ensure you have a spot at our tailgate during the entire football season is to make your annual gift to the Alumni Loyalty Fund. Loyalty Fund donors of $50 or more get access to our tailgate for free. You read that correctly. That means free jambalaya, cold drinks, and cracklin’ for every home football game. If you haven’t made an Alumni Loyalty Fund gift, entry is $15 per person. Children under 18 with an adult get in free.

2. Download the GeauxU mobile app

Checking into our tailgate is a breeze with the GeauxU mobile app. Available for Apple and Android devices, GeauxU contains a digital wallet that shows your Loyalty Fund Donor status. When checking into our tailgate, click on your Loyalty Fund Donor card, and a volunteer will scan your card, allowing you to enter. Once you’re in, you’re free to enjoy our tailgate three hours before kickoff. Need a refresher on where we’re located? You can find our tailgate in the Soccer/Track facility parking lot on Reinhardt Drive. 3. Know the football schedule

Get your calendars ready, Ragin’ Cajuns! There are six home football games this year, and we want to see you at our tailgate for every single one. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the 2022 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football schedule so you don’t miss any of the fun. The season kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, when Louisiana faces Southeastern Louisiana at Cajun Field. The Alumni Association is excited to bring back the Alumni Hospitality Tailgate for another football season. Remember to wear red, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our tailgate tent for an experience you’re sure to remember.
