If you're looking for a place to take your next family pictures or host an event, the Alumni Center may be the perfect fit. The Alumni Center has been the Alumni Association and the University Advancement division home since it was purchased from Herbert Heyman in 1991. The facility was originally Heyman's home, and well-known architect A. Hays Towns designed it. The entire community utilizes the Lafayette landmark for wedding receptions, photoshoots, and any other types of gatherings.

Dan Hare serves as the Senior Director of Alumni Facilities and Special Projects for the Alumni Association. In his role, Hare has overseen every aspect when it comes to the Alumni Center. He even has found some favorite spots on the property. "I love the gates in the walkway," said Hare. These gorgeous accents to the Alumni Center enhance the venue's overall appeal and make it a great place to host any event.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alumni Center has had to make some adjustments to event rentals. Throughout the past year, Hare has made sure that all guidelines and restrictions have been followed to ensure the safety of guests that rent out the facility. Thankfully, the large outdoor space within the property has made following these guidelines much easier. "It makes the [Alumni Center] really attractive during this time," said Hare. Hare has also ensured guest safety by scheduling photo sessions at different time slots so that they don't overlap. It's imperative for guests to follow the Alumni Center's photo session reservation policy during this time to make sure each session runs safely and smoothly.

The Alumni Center has also revamped its website to make it easier for those interested in reserving the facility. Now, people can find out information about pricing and rental packages all online. You can also fill out a simple online form to inquire more about specific details concerning photo sessions and wedding rentals. Hare recommends those trying to reserve the Alumni Center for a larger event such as a wedding reception inquire about a reservation at least one year from your desired date. As we progress into the new year, the Alumni Association is excited to continue to offer this gorgeous facility for our community to enjoy. If you're interested in reserving the Alumni Center, make sure to check more information about it online.
