Every year, the Alumni Association honors alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago at Golden Reunion. Graduates are welcomed back to UL Lafayette for a weekend packed with activities and events to honor them and rekindle memories from their days on campus. To conclude the weekend, our Golden Graduates lead the procession during Spring Commencement's general assembly. This year, the Alumni Association is excited to welcome back the Class of 1970 for their Golden Reunion!

Golden Reunion will take place Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15. The reunion kicks off with a dinner Wednesday night to welcome all of our attendees. This is an excellent opportunity to see old friends, meet new ones, and share stories with others. On Thursday, the day starts with breakfast, followed by a campus tour. Attendees will get the chance to see how much the campus has changed and find their bricks on the Walk of Honor. That night, our Golden Grads are honored during a special dinner where they will receive their Golden Diplomas to commemorate this extraordinary milestone.

Finally, on Friday, our Golden Graduates begin their day with breakfast and an induction ceremony into the Golden Ambassador Society. This special Alumni Chapter is for those who have graduated 50 or more years ago. Members of the Golden Ambassador Society are invited back to UL Lafayette in the fall during Homecoming Week for the Golden Ambassador Society Dinner. After breakfast, our attendees are escorted to the Cajundome, where they get to put on exclusive golden graduation apparel before leading the procession during Commencement.

Sonny Launey '67, '69, remembers his Golden Reunion well. He encourages anyone who is considering coming to definitely attend! "The [Alumni Association] staff will make you feel very special," said Launey. Registration is now live for this year's Golden Reunion, and the Alumni Association is looking forward to seeing graduates from the Class of 1970!
