Alumni Band Chapter

Baton Rouge Ragin' Cajun Club

Following their Summer Social in August, the Baton Rouge Ragin' Cajun Club hosted two watch parties this football season in the capital city. The first was held on September 28 at Ivar's Sports Bar & Grill for the Georgia Southern game. View the photos here!

Another watch party was planned for October 17 when the Ragin' Cajuns faced Arkansas State, this time at Uncle Earl's.

The Christiana Smith African American Alumni Chapter celebrated its 28th Annual Sweet Sounds of Sharing on November 2. This year's honorees included Jade Ashley Colin, Dr. Charleta Guillory, Brian Jolivette, Dr. Clark Joseph, and Bently Senegal, CPA, CGMA.

Emerald Coast Ragin' Cajun Club

Wear red and come out to start your South Alabama Football Weekend off with the Alumni Association and Ragin’ Cajuns! Join us for a Friday Night Social at Loda BierGarten in downtown Mobile. The event is free to attend with food and beverages available for purchase. Those that preregister will be eligible for door prize drawings!

Continue the fun on Saturday for a Cajun Tailgate party before the game! Entry is $15 per person and includes jambalaya and beverages. Children 12 and under get in free. The party starts at 1:00 p.m. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. Special thanks to our sponsors: LCVC and RCAF!

Golden Ambassador Society

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association invited all alumni who have celebrated their 50th reunion milestone to an annual dinner held during Homecoming Week. Newman Alumni Chapter (Ragin' Cajun Catholics)

UL Lafayette alumni and friends in the Houston area were invited to a special Mass and Luncheon on October 10 at Holy Cross Chapel in Downtown Houston. Father Bryce Sibley, Pastor and Chaplain at Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic Student Center at UL Lafayette, celebrated Mass and spoke about his work with students and Catholic campus ministry. Twenty-four alumni were in attendance.

The Newman Alumni Chapter also hosted a presentation by Father Rene Pellessier on October 17, with 25 alumni in attendance.

Gridiron alumni hosted a watch party at Legend's on Bertrand for the Georgia Southern game on September 28, with 15 alumni in attendance.

Ragin' Cajuns Lettermen Club

The UL Lettermen Club Hall of Fame Reception was held on Friday, November 1, as part of Homecoming celebrations. Seven former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns student-athletes, a legendary coach in track and field, and the first father-daughter tandem to be inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame make up the 2019 Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame class and were recognized at halftime of the Louisiana-Texas State game on November 2. Inductees include Ivan "Ike" Taylor, Stephanie DeFeo, Kathy Morton, Priscilla Lima, Jose Alvarez, Bret Garnett, Ashley Rhoney, the late Charles Lancon, Leigh Hennessy and her father, the late Jeff Hennessy. Join Vermilion Parish Ragin' Cajuns for a watch party at Brew-Bacher's in downtown Abbeville when the Cajuns take on Coastal Carolina! Remember to WEAR RED! West Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns gathered at Mellow Mushroom in Lake Charles on October 17 for an Arkansas State game watch party.

Young Alumni Chapter

The Young Alumni Chapter has been busy with fall events! The season was kicked off with a watch party at TULA Tacos + Amigos on October 17. View the photos here!

The chapter also hosted young alumni for Downtown Alive during Homecoming Week. A tented area was set up with drinks and koozies when Wayne Toups performed. Members of the chapter also helped get the crowd excited for Homecoming with a t-shirt toss from the Parc International stage. Special thank you to our 2019 Homecoming Sponsor, Home Bank.

Trivia on Tap is also returning on November 13 to celebrate Thanksgiving at The Room @ Corner Bar. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. with the first round of trivia at 6 p.m. Teams will be tested on their knowledge of Thanksgiving, pop culture, literature, current events, and University facts. There will be heavy appetizers provided, and drinks will be available for purchase. Participants who register here by Tuesday, November 12, 2019, will be entered to win door prizes!
