The UL Lafayette Alumni Association hosted its second annual Bingo and Bubbly fundraiser on October 28. This women-only event is one of the largest fundraisers for alumni engagement initiatives. This year’s fundraiser welcomed 226 women into the Student Union ballroom and is expected to profit over $12,500, raising $4,000 more than last year.

Attendees were treated to bottomless mimosas, red and white wines, sandwiches, fruit, and endless desserts. This three hour event also consisted of eight rounds of bingo ending with a $100 cash prize for each winner. There was also a special blackout bingo round that ended with two winners each receiving a $500 cash prize.

Attendees also had the chance to buy raffle tickets and enter for a chance to win any of the twelve gift baskets filled with items generously donated by local businesses. Even though there were only a certain number of bingo winners, every attendee left with a small gift to make sure that no one went home empty handed.

Bingo & Bubbly also saw an increase in sponsorships with 17 sponsors in comparison to last year’s 5. Lowry’s Printing served as the event sponsor. Table sponsors included Allure Enhancement Center, Cochran Scales, Cox Communications, Credeur’s Specialties, Home Bank, Judice Inn, Kappa Delta, Pinhook Foundation, Rayne State Bank and Trust Company, Republic National Distributing, Sally Ware, System Services, UL Lafayette Foundation, University of Louisiana Federal Credit Union, Van Eaton & Romero, Women’s & Children’s Hospital, and Domingue, Szabo & Associates/M&E Consulting.

“It’s been exciting to see Bingo & Bubbly grow in the first two years and we’re hoping word continues to spread and bring more women in 2018,” said Millicent Nugent, alumni volunteer and Bingo & Bubbly planning committee member. “We’re just so thankful for everyone who registered or volunteered their time to make this event such a huge success.”
