The University of Louisiana at Lafayette community is coming together to support the Ragin’ Cajuns community through giving. On Thursday, April 18, the University will host UL Lafayette Giving Day, a university-wide day of giving. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff, parents and students will come together to celebrate philanthropy and ensure the University’s future success.

During Giving Day, supporters can give back to their areas of interest within the institution, ranging from academics, the arts, athletics and the Alumni Association. Supporters can also participate in UL Lafayette’s Giving Day by showing their support online and spreading the word about the event with their friends and family.

Rebecca Doucet, associate vice president of Development, encourages those near and far to participate in this upcoming day of giving. “Giving Day inspires everyone to get involved, from students, faculty and staff to alumni, businesses and friends of UL Lafayette. Everyone can support the important work happening on campus no matter the amount they can give,” she said.

One of the areas participants can support is the UL Lafayette Alumni Association. All gifts will support the Alumni Scholarship Fund. Those who give at least $125 to the fund on Giving Day will receive a limited edition pair of socks featuring University President Dr. Joseph Savoie. The socks will be available while supplies last.

As Giving Day approaches, Doucet said she is looking forward to the UL Lafayette community coming together to make a lasting impact on the University. “Giving Day is about participation and showing your pride in the University while supporting what you care about most. It’s a meaningful way for the entire UL Lafayette community near and far to come together and make a difference in the lives of our students that will positively impact society for years to come,” she said.
