Graduates from the Class of 1972 are invited back to campus this spring for their Golden Reunion. Graduates are welcomed back to UL Lafayette for a celebration packed with activities and events to honor them and rekindle memories from their days on campus. Every year, the Alumni Association honors alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago during this special celebration. Golden Reunion for the Class of 1972 will begin on Wednesday, May 11, with a dinner for graduates to get reacquainted. The reunion will conclude on Friday, May 13.

Tammy Broussard, special projects coordinator for the UL Lafayette Alumni Association, has planned the association's Golden Reunion for several years. "I get such a great feeling of accomplishment from planning Golden Reunion," said Broussard. She loves when she hears feedback from the attendees that they had a wonderful time and could reconnect with old friends. This year, Golden Reunion will be a three-day celebration with several events to attend. Attendees will get the chance to see the improvements to the campus, find their brick on the Walk of Honor during a tour of UL Lafayette, and enjoy some delicious Cajun cuisine. Attendees will also be officially inducted into the Golden Ambassador Society, an alumni chapter for those who have reached their 50th anniversary.

Broussard encourages everyone to attend their Golden Reunion because it's an incredible honor and achievement. "Once they attend one event at the reunion, they usually want to attend them all," said Broussard. Even if you don't know anyone attending, Golden Reunion is a great place to meet new friends who went to the University at the same time as you. Members of the Golden Ambassador Society are also invited to attend this event as well. This spring, the Alumni Association can't wait to welcome these graduates back to campus for their Golden Reunion.

Save the Date postcards and emails have been sent out to the Class of 1972. Invitations and registration will be available soon. If you did not receive a save the date and are interested in attending, don't hesitate to contact Tammy Broussard with the Alumni Association at (337) 482-0900.
