Louisiana Ring Celebration

Congratulations on your recent achievement of earning an Official Louisiana Ring. We hope that you are available to join us for this year’s celebrations!

Fall 2024 continues the tradition on campus known as the Official Louisiana Ring Release. This event will serve as a way to recognize ring recipients during a small ceremony at Cypress Lake Plaza Pier. During the ceremony, recipients will have the opportunity to physically place their rings in the pirogue before they are released into the swamp to be guarded overnight by the alligators.

Following the overnight stay in the swamp, the rings will be transported to the Alumni Center in anticipation of the Official Louisiana Ring Ceremony. During the ceremony, all recipients will be presented their rings by University President Dr. E. Joseph Savoie.

Ring Release

Date: Monday, December 2nd 
Time: 6:00 pm (ring recipients need to arrive no later than 5:45 pm)
Location: Cypress Lake Plaza Pier
Guests: Any number of guests are invited to attend!


Ring Ceremony

Date: Wednesday, December 4th 
Time: 6:00 pm (ring recipients need to arrive no later than 5:30 pm)
Location: Alumni Center
Parking: Alumni Center Parking Lot 
Guests: Any number of guests are invited to attend!

If you are unable to attend the Official Louisiana Ring Ceremony, your ring will be available for pick up at the Alumni Center on Thursday, December 5th beginning at 10 am.

The Alumni Center is located at 600 E. St. Mary Blvd (Across from Angelle Hall)
