The UL Lafayette Alumni Association is bringing a new engagement offering to alumni across the country. Starting this fall, a virtual Alumni Speaker Series will launch.

This new initiative will highlight several different UL Lafayette thought leaders and innovators. They’ll share their career advice, innovative ideas and lessons learned throughout their personal journeys. Alumni, students and friends of the University will be able to participate in this virtual series from anywhere across the country.

Amy Armstrong, associate vice president for alumni engagement and chief executive officer of the UL Lafayette Alumni Association, is excited to provide this experience for all alumni — including those who live outside of Acadiana. “We are striving to expand our engagement opportunities to be inclusive of all geographic regions. Through this new speaker series, we want to encourage the exchange of ideas and lifelong learning," she said.

The Alumni Speaker Series will be a free event that will take place in a webinar-style format. Two to three speakers will be highlighted throughout the year, providing alumni with several different opportunities to participate in the series.

This new initiative also aligns with the Alumni Association’s comprehensive strategic plan. Last year, the organization launched this plan to guide how the Alumni Association intends to engage with alumni and strengthen connections in several key areas. “The Alumni Speaker Series spans across several of our strategic plan pillars. We’re always working toward the goal of offering more opportunities for alumni to engage with each other,” Armstrong said.

Details are being finalized for the launch of the Alumni Speaker Series, but alumni can expect the series to begin this fall. To make sure you’re getting notified about the Alumni Speaker Series and other engagement opportunities, update your contact information with the Alumni Association.
