The College of Engineering Alumni Chapter is partnering with the UL Lafayette College of Engineering for an incredible reunion as part of the University’s 125 anniversary. The celebration will take place during Homecoming weekend, October 19 – 22.

The reunion includes traditional Homecoming festivities, plus Dessert with the Dean, a social at Rock N’ Bowl, and an Engineering Open House. Alumni can register here to attend any or all of the events offered.

Bridget Meaux, the new president of the College of Engineering Alumni Chapter, says the 4-day event will be a way to “reconnect with old classmates and professors, see what the engineering departments and current students are working on, learn about the new and exciting plans for the College of Engineering and be a part of new engineering alumni traditions.”

Traditions are meaningful for Bridget, who continued a family’s tradition of attending UL Lafayette for engineering, earning her degree in chemical engineering in 2010. Today, she serves as the senior production engineer at Bayer Crop Science.

Shortly after graduation, she joined the University’s Chemical Engineering Industry Advisory Board. “Since I’ve graduated, I’ve come back every year to give career advice and technical presentations to engineering student organizations, mentor undergraduate students, and recruit and interview UL Lafayette Engineering students for internships and full-time jobs,” Bridget said.

As president of the College of Engineering Alumni Chapter, she’s looking forward to working closely with Dean Khattab and the Alumni Association to create new alumni traditions that give graduates of all ages a way to reconnect – and stay connected for years to come.
