What has a tail, is typically boiled, and tastes delicious with corn and potatoes? If you’ve ever stepped foot in Louisiana, then we’re sure that you already know this answer. That’s right, we’re talking about crawfish! Crawfish season is here, and the Alumni Association is excited to continue our tradition of hosting crawfish boils across the country for alumni of the University. Whether you live right outside of Lafayette or have moved to the mountains in Colorado, we’re committed to bringing a piece of Louisiana to our alumni, no matter where they call home. Here are a few tips and tricks from us to make sure that you have the best time devouring one of Louisiana’s most delicious delicacies.

Early Bird Gets The Crawfish

Set your alarms Ragin’ Cajuns and make sure to sign up for one of our crawfish boils as soon as registration becomes available. We want to make sure that we have enough crawfish to feed every single Ragin’ Cajun in attendance. Check our website or follow the UL Lafayette Alumni Association on social media so that you won’t miss any important crawfish boil updates.

Come Hungry, Leave Full

Now that you’ve registered for your crawfish boil, it’s time for the fun part: eating! Make sure to come to our crawfish boils with an empty stomach because you will be greeted by pounds and pounds of crawfish once you arrive. Some of our crawfish boils may even include extra treats such as jambalaya and hot dogs. Regardless of what you decide to devour, we guarantee that you will leave no longer feeling hungry, but very, very happy.

Meeting New Ragin’ Cajuns

Not only do you get to enjoy delicious crawfish at one of our annual boils, but you get to meet other Ragin’ Cajuns that live in your area as well! Once you move away from the University, it can be hard to find other UL Lafayette alumni. Take this opportunity to reach out, meet some new friends, and see how you can get involved with your local Ragin’ Cajun Club or Alumni Chapter in the future.

We can’t wait to see so many Ragin’ Cajuns at our crawfish boils this year. Register early, come hungry and get ready to meet some new friends. Geaux Cajuns!
